Weekend update 19th January 2018

Hi all,

An extremely busy week for all in 3MW. The children have worked so hard on grid method multiplication in maths - some of the trickiest maths done so far in Year 3. I've been really proud of their bravery and resilience and Kiaren won the STAR OF THE WEEK award for this!

In English, we are putting together the features of a newspaper to write our our news report about Otto the penguin, from our book The Penguin Who Wanted To Find Out by Jill Tomlinson. I would also love to add some drama with this and have the children pretend to be news reporters and tv news stars!

Big congratulations to our first multiplication bronze award winners! They have excelled at their 2s, 5s, and 10 times tables. Some children are working towards their silver awards.

Later this weekend, I will add a blog page about which times tables the children could focus on at home. I will also add a link to homework and spellings to go with our paperless vision for the school.

Joke of the week: Q: Who is a penguin's favorite relative? A: Aunt Arctica!
